In recent years, the importance of fundraising by parent / teacher groups appears to have reached all time highs.
The school fundraiser has become the steam engine that, if successful, delivers a years' worth of recognition, rewards
and supplies to the students and staff.
In fact, fundraising has become so important that parents are often greeted the first week of school with donation
requests, fundraiser sales programs, and pleas for financial assistance.

Mixed messages... |
|
Recently, a school held their annual kick-off fundraiser; a carnival.
As in the past, they had the dinner service catered by a local fast-food company.
Students were served hamburgers & chips.
And in order to be in compliance with the school districts' nutrition guidelines, the fast-food employees
were required to hand soft drinks that came with the meal, to a students' parent - who in turn handed it to the student.
